Can there be something better than watching the glacier in beautiful sunny weather? Probably not! On a May day, using just the beautiful, wonderful, sunny weather, I decided to go with my family to see one of the picturesque glaciers – Kjenndal.
The road to the glacier itself is a real pleasure. It runs from Loen through an absolutely magical valley, among the high, snowy peaks of the mountains and next to the azure Lake Lovatnet.
The glacial valley itself makes an unusual impression. We can perfectly see all post-glacial forms. In such a sunny weather, the glacier’s blue looks amazing. It’s power and colour are breathtaking. Because the glacier’s still working, every few or several minutes we can hear it’s menacing murmurs echoing among the high rocks.
In such a place like that you can feel the real power of nature and feel really ‘tiny’ in relation to its vastness.
